Welcome to my website, my name is Paul T (ptd3v) and the purpose of this blog is to have a place to demonstrate and document my software projects to use as an online portfolio of my work. This website will be secondary to my GitHub profile.

In addition, by documenting my software development journey, I aim to actively develop my knowledge, skills and problem solving abilities. I intend for this site to be a resource for me to come back to but I also hope that it can help any other aspiring developers solve issues that I will be facing, diagnosing and resolving.

My Story so Far

If you have arrived here from my CV, this may sound a little familiar but I have always had a passion for technology, business and all things data. Starting in 2011, I gained a BSc undergraduate degree in Computer Science and a few years later, I became the IT manager for an international recruitment consultancy.

In 2014, I was enrolled on a business development course through the Princes Trust. Shortly after, I became a freelance data analyst. After doing this for eight years, I decided to complete an MBA and reignite my passion for development.

At the time of writing this (2022), I primarily work with Python, SQL and AWS. I am extremely interested in machine learning and artificial intelligence as I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords. This was a Simpsons reference by the way.
My career goal is to become either a Software Engineer or a Data Scientist.

Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Current Proficiencies: Python, MySQL, HTML/CSS and AWS.

A Quote I love:

“The code you write makes you a programmer. The code you delete makes you a good one. The code you don’t have to write makes you a great one.” – Mario Fusco.
